Acer rubrum ‘Armstrong’
A large, fast growing upright and narrow tree with ascending branches and attractive silver-grey bark. The leaves are 3-5 lobed, ovate and 5-10cm long. The leaves emerge as a crimson red in spring, turn a rich green in summer and return to a reddish burgundy in autumn.
Soil: Rich, well drained. Clay, chalk, light sandy.
Aspect: Prefers full sun, but will grow in part shade.
Suitable Locations: Parkland, city/urban sites.
