A handsome and vigorous, large growing tree of conical habit. Glossy dark green leaves grow up to 10cm in length with a heart shaped base. Large yellow male catkins open in late winter or early spring before the leaves emerge.

Soil: Moist, clay soil.

Suitable Locations: Woodland sites, damp sites, urban and coastal areas.

Other: Pollution resistant.
