Alnus glutinosa
A vigorous, medium to large sized, bushy tree with sticky young growths and dark green leaves. The leaves are broadest toward the tip and are edged with small teeth. Yellow-brown male catkins open in late winter or early spring.
Soil: Prefers moist, but will thrive in all soils.
Suitable Locations: Woodland, damp, cold and exposed sites.
Other: Pollution resistant.
