A fast growing, medium to large conical tree with distinctive slender, pendulous branches, which give it a very graceful appearance. The white bark does not peel and develops blackish cracks towards the base of the tree. Taper pointed, glossy dark green, sharply toothed leaves turn yellow in autumn, male catkins open in spring.

Soil: Well drained, most soil types.
