Prunus avium
A medium sized, vigorous, deciduous tree with red-brown bark in peeling horizontal bands. Taper pointed and sharply toothed leaves, bronze when young, turn deep green, then red and yellow. Clusters of white flowers open in mid-spring before or as the leaves emerge, followed by red fruits.
Soil: Thrives on most free draining soils.
Aspect: Full sun. Exposed or sheltered.
