A medium-sized deciduous tree with broad elliptic leaves that to 15cm in length, glossy dark green above, whitish beneath and turning yellow in autumn. Clusters of creamy-white flowers appear in late spring, followed by red berries 12mm long in autumn.

Soil: Grows best in well drained lime rich and chalk soils.

Aspect: Full sun or part shade.

Suitable Locations: Parks, gardens, urban/city sites. Will tolerate exposed and windy positions.
