A small to medium sized, deciduous tree, conical to broadly columnar in habit, bearing glossy, dark green, sharply toothed leaves densely covered beneath in white hairs. Flattened heads of white flowers appear in spring, followed by bright red fruits with white speckles.

Soil: Grows best on well drained lime rich and chalk soils.

Aspect:  Full sun, but will tolerate partial shade.

Suitable Locations: Parks, gardens, urban/city sites.

Other: Tolerates exposure, windy positions and dry urban situations well.
