A small, compact, narrowly upright, deciduous tree with broadly conical habit when mature. It bears ovate to elliptic, lobed, and glossy dark green leaves that turn yellow-brown in autumn. Clusters of white flowers appear in late spring and are followed by spherical, bright red fruit in autumn.

Soil: Grows well in most moist, well drained soil.
