Tilia tomentosa ‘Petiolaris’
A vigorous and elegant, large deciduous tree with pendulous branches bearing heart-shaped dark green leaves, the undersides of which are coated in a silver felt, turning rich yellow in autumn. The branches arch gracefully downwards once established and in summer, masses of strongly scented, yellowish flowers, which are narcotic to bees, appear.
Soil: Grows well in any alkaline or neutral, well drained soil.
Aspect: Full sun or part shade. Sheltered.
